assemblageSTUDIO Wins AIA Award For The Mercer
January 4, 2007
Las Vegas, NV - assemblageSTUDIO has won a Merit Award from the AIA Nevada (Institute of Architects) for it's designs for The Mercer, a new mid-rise urban development project to be built near the Summerlin area of Las Vegas. The project was chosen from 60 entries in the "Unbuilt" category.
According to judges, assemblageSTUDIO was awarded this honor based on their designs for the landscaping, courtyard and overall simple, but elegant design of the Mercer. The Mercer's modern design sets it apart from other condos in the Las Vegas area that are quickly becoming popular.
"The modern, urban design and community courtyard of The Mercer is very unusual for Las Vegas," said Eric Strain, owner of assemblageSTUDIO. "We are grateful that our work has been recognized by AIA and we look forward to seeing the project through completion."
Established in 1997, assemblageSTUDIO has become one of the most recognized design firms in the Southwest. They create site-specific projects that embrace the inherent qualities of the environment. Design and sustainability are brought together to develop appropriate desert responses to modern living and working spaces.
